Pieter-Paulus Vertongen and Ciel Berings founded Aaltra in 2007 after working together during their studies for 6 years. Pieter-Paulus Vertongen is a highly educated and talented programmer specialized in C# Asp.Net, WPF, Flash and Silverlight.
Ciel Berings is a graphic designer with an amazing skill for perfection and usability. Those two profiles combined give the ultimate mix, completing any project in time with great usability, stability and exquisite design.

Pieter-Paulus Vertongen

Pieter-Paulus started his first education in Multimedia and Communication Technology at PIH, Kortrijk Belgium. A lot of opportunities were offered during his education, an internship at the Royal Library of Spain and the first price for his small business project being two examples of this. After working in a web agency for one year, he had the urge to study more and started a new education at the IT University in Copenhagen and has a Master in Internet and Software technology. His thesis on location based services using image search was published and accepted as a paper for the IEEE WACV conference. The time was right to start Aaltra!

Ciel Berings

Ciel and Pieter-Paulus met at Sint-Lucas Ghent where they studied Architecture together for 4 years. When they graduated Ciel and Pieter-Paulus both went their own ways, and Ciel started his career as a graphic designer in the year 2000 at the Sint-Lucas Institute for Visual Arts in Ghent Belgium. After his graduation Ciel started working as a graphic & web designer at the world famous flash web agency group94 where he worked on several great projects (duciel.com). At the end of 2007, Aaltra was founded to enable them to extend their professional experience, and to focus more on cross platform interface design and web development.
