Project Manager

What do we expect from our project manager?

Yep, indeed, 'project manager'. When it comes to job titles that can mean anything, "project manager" takes the prize. Let us elaborate more about who we are and whom we are looking for exactly.

One of our strengths, are our people. Now, 25 people wear the 'Aaltra employee' badge with honour, and we expect to be a team of 40 within a few years. How we interact with our customers is of utmost importance to us. Above all, the personal touch leads to trust and mutual respect. This eventually leads to becoming a strategic partner to the client, discovering new opportunities to work together for mutual benefit.

Your future colleagues are all young and very talented, a diverse population that certainly doesn't lack a sense of perspective and sheer fun.

To further strengthen this team, we are looking for another puzzle piece: Someone who feels at home in an innovative, digital world and appreciates a team with humour. And yes, project manager seemed the best term to apply to this particular missing piece. Read on to see if you agree:

Job description, aka what we'll expect you to do

  • You are guiding a project from A-Z, meaning you take ownership from the analysis until delivery.
  • You must delegate to others and coach them to reach the best solutions.
  • You can communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, both in English and Dutch.
  • You can act pro-actively and signal when something threatens to go wrong or when someone needs help. Although you can manage fine on your own, you realize that there is no shame in knowing when to reach out to others as well.
  • Without losing sight of the bigger picture, you need to be aware of the different parts and phases of a project and distinguish between them so that each piece gets the approach it requires.
  • You must be able to listen well to both customers and colleagues. Capture what they verbalize, but even more so what they don't. Filter the right and relevant information to set the right priorities.
  • You manage the projects in terms of planning. We meet deadlines in the most comfortable way for everyone, given their workload and skills. Deadlines do not, however, dictate the schedule no matter what.
  • You follow up on the progress and budgets, ensuring that what we do is profitable in the end.
  • You put together offers & quotations based on the input & estimates of the team.
  • Your people skills allow you to enable our excellent team atmosphere further. You have well-developed senses for frustrations or problems within the team to detect and resolve them quickly. Our positive mindset fosters the best results, so we value it highly.
  • We base our workflow on the scrum principle. You are responsible for initiating and facilitating kick-off meetings, sprint meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Part of your job is also knowing when to recharge your batteries. Work/life balance is something we cherish, so that we won't expect a 7/7, 24h/day availability from you.

Skills that will make you the best Aaltra project manager in town:

  • Problem solver
  • Stress resistant
  • People person
  • Structured & well organized
  • Taking ownership, both in calm and rough sea
  • A conflict resolving mindset, not avoiding
  • Flexible
  • Communicative
